Staff Profile - Cherie Winter

Cherie Winter received her education at the College of Fine Arts, University of N.S.W and a Graduate Diploma from Sydney University. Since graduation she has exhibited regularly: Hands Across the Water: Heads Across the Sky, East Hawaii Cultural Center, Hilo, USA. She has also been involved in commissions such as the Ribbons of Steel Festival BHP and the Hunter Urban division of General Practice Award.
Cherie has participated in five solo shows and numerous selected exhibitions, such as; 16th Asian International Art Exhibition, Guangdong Museum of Art, China, Future State, Newcastle Regional Gallery and the Rena Ellen Jones Memorial Print Award, Warrnambool Art Gallery. She is held in collections across Australia; National Gallery of Australia, Charles Sturt University, Maitland City Art Gallery and Newcastle Region Art Gallery. She has received awards and grants such as the Collie Print Trust Emerging Victorian Printmakers Scholarship from the Australian Print Workshop, Hunter Urban Division of General Practice Award and the Visual and Craft Artists’ Grant Scheme from the National Association for the visual arts.
