Creative Writing

Creative Writing offerings at undergraduate level consists of core units of study at first and second year level supplemented by a wide range of elective units such as Narrative, Short Fiction, Editing, Writing for Young People, Script-writing for Screen, Script-writing for Theatre, Poetry, Non-fiction and Journals, Diaries and Autobiography.
Students who are very successful may continue their studies in the Honours programme at fourth year level. For those who do not have Honours or who have come from other institutions, a Post-graduate Diploma in Creative Arts or Creative Writing is now an option.
A Masters by Research is available in Creative Writing. Students who complete Honours or the Post-graduate Diploma (with a research component) are eligible to be considered for the Masters programme. The Honours and post-graduate degrees involve substantial creative projects as well as a theoretical component.
